Best time of year to trek Manaslu

Dear Travel Experts & Entrepreneurs,

We’ve just received an alert for Manasalu trekking. Please tell us what would be the best time/season/month of the year to trek Manaslu. It might help information seekers in some ways.

    Other posters are right – October / November and March / April are generally the best times, but don’t rule out other times of year – you get to see a different face of the region in different seasons.

    Hi there !

    I would recommend you Autumn as a best season to travel to Manaslu. In Manaslu, you will trek in the lower Kali Gandaki valley at the average altitude of 1,000 m for about a week. Autumn is nice and cool compared to Spring for such a low altitude. Beside that fresh organic vegetables and fruits are available everywhere for camping group. The great festival of Nepal “Dashain” brings color to the villages as all members working or studying away throng into the village. Autumn is better for view as the monsoon rain clears the air pollution and the mountains appears undisturbed unlike in spring.
    Here are tips to make the Manaslu trek better :

    1) Trek along the eastern flank of Kali Gandaki and remain high up for the gorgeous view of Manaslu Range. Normally guide books will suggest classic route from Gorkha Bazaar. But with the extension of dirt roads, one can shorten the driving and explore charming villages with the view of Himalayan Peaks and join the Manaslu valley at Machhi Khola below Jagat. Drive from Kathmandu to Kahare of Dhading and climb to the ridge of Murchok to get to Fulkharka. (http://www.itournepal.com/villagetour/fulkharka.php) . From Fulkharka, the trail less or more follows the contour through Baishari, manbu and Kashi Gaun offering magnificent view of manaslu Range. Finally get down to Machhi Khola and trek upstream Kali Gandaki.

    2) Tsum Valley side trip
    Tsum Valley braids from the base of Shringi Himal after Philim. This is opened newly and very pristine.
