Hello Gowin,

You can reach Muktinath via bus from Kathmandu, but you have to change buses in many stops. Route for bus from Kathmandu is Kathmandu-Pokhara-Beni-Tatopani-Ghasa-Marpha-Jomsom-Muktinath and back.

As you said you are planning to trek, I assume that you will be trekking from Nayapul. Up to Nayapul you will get a jeep/bus. But from Nayapul you have to trek to Tikhedhunga-Ghorepani-Tatopani. You have to trek up there. Only from tatopani you will get a bus/jeep to ride to reach up to Muktinath.

As for the hotel/lodges, there are few hotels to stay, but depending on the number of people you are going, you have to prebook the lodge in order to get a room as there might be a chance not getting a room for 20+ people at once. So i advise you to book the lodge before, or you can hire a guide which will be helpful and easy for you.

Expenses depends on what you eat. Normally for one day, you can separate Rs.1500-2000 (approximately) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Hope this will help for your trip.
