Route Highlights

  1. Pokhara to Nayapul: The trek usually starts from Pokhara. Drive 1–2 hours to Nayapul.
  2. Nayapul → Tikhedhunga → Ghorepani: Trek through villages, terraced fields, and forests.
  3. Ghorepani → Poon Hill → Tadapani: Sunrise at Poon Hill offers panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machapuchare.
  4. Tadapani → Chhomrong → Bamboo → Deurali: Enter the deep forest, following the Modi River valley.
  5. Deurali → Annapurna Base Camp: Reach ABC, surrounded by towering peaks like Annapurna South, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli.
  6. Return: Typically retrace steps via Chhomrong or Jhinu Danda, famous for natural hot springs.

Accommodation & Food

  • Tea houses and lodges along the trail provide simple rooms and meals.
  • Expect Dal Bhat (lentils with rice), noodles, soups, and sometimes pasta/pizza in popular villages.
  • Prices increase the closer you get to ABC.
